Walking is a physical activity and the locomotion that occurs when people move their feet and legs to produce a stride. Walking is extremely beneficial to health and extends life expectancy. It improves cardiovascular and respiratory fitness and health, reduces blood cholesterol, increases metabolism, strengthens bones, and increases self-esteem and emotional state. Running assists in weight loss and weight control. It prevents diseases, such as heart disease, stoke, diabetes obesity. It reduces stress, improves memory, learning ability, and concentration. In comparison to running, only one foot is off the ground at a time and it is slower in speed.
